Living Resources Captures Cherry Hill in Photographs

Living Resources is an agency dedicated to enhancing and enriching lives by teaching skills necessary in achieving full potential as upstanding community members. The individuals who participate in the Day Community Opportunities Program (D.C.O.P.) know what skills they would like to learn to better themselves and their communities. The participants are assisted with learning these skills in programs every day by staff members in our 5 counties.

The Photography class was created in Albany County with Scott Hamilton for participants who wanted to learn more about taking photographs and how to adjust them in Photoshop. The students have learned much over the time they spent in this class and continue to learn more. They go out into the community and take photographs of buildings, landscapes, historic places and much more.

One of our Photography students, Jason, had visited Cherry Hill before. The visit had interested him so much that he wanted very badly to go back and take photographs. Becky Watrous, Education Director of Cherry Hill set up a day for us to come for a private tour where we would be allowed to take photographs. It was a wonderful trip for all of us who visited Cherry Hill that day, including Jason, Leslie, Donny and myself.

We thank everyone at Historic Cherry Hill for giving us the opportunity to enter into a world of exciting history and wonderful stories. We are honored to have taken photograph’s of such amazing pieces of history.

Again, we thank you so very much,
The Schenectady D.C.O.P. Photography class: Jason, Leslie, Donny and Alicia

I liked all of the antiques in the house and the piano and the small kitchen.
Thank you so much for having us!

Dear Cherry Hill,

I liked the tour of the inside of the Cherry Hill building. I had a really good time there. I especially liked seeing the kid’s rooms the way they were back in the old days. I also really liked the end of the tour when we got to write down our experience at Cherry Hill in the book. Thank you for giving us a tour of the inside of the building.

From, Donny
