
Deborah Emmons-Andarawis
Executive Director & CuratorDeborah Emmons-Andarawis received her BA from Barnard College, Columbia University, and continued her studies at the University at Albany, receiving a master’s in Public History in 2009. Deborah has been at Historic Cherry Hill since 2008, first serving as Curator, then as Director since 2017. Over her tenure, Deborah has overseen a major restoration project, collaborated on numerous interpretive programs, launched interpretive planning, and secured and administered numerous grants.

Holly Kilgore
Director of EducationHolly Kilgore received her Master’s in Historical Administration and Public History from Florida State University. A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Holly’s academic and professional journeys have been deeply rooted in that region’s dynamic histories. Holly has been an educator in professional and volunteer positions since 2019, creating engaging thematic tours and programs that connect visitors to the past in meaningful ways. Holly is excited to be joining Historic Cherry Hill and working alongside the Albany community to share the rich history of Cherry Hill.

Carol Durant
Marketing & Community Engagement AssociateCarol is a Black American author, poet, playwright and recording artist. She is the 2024 Reader’s Choice Award winning author in Chronogram Magazine. Her latest book is Cold Pressed and Just Brewed Poetry. Carol is the founder and co-host of Stage & Stanza, a Conversation with Creatives at Russell Sage College. She is also Managing Director and Board Member of the theater group, All Abilities Productions of Upstate New York in Queensbury, NY. Her song ” Mystified” produced by GruvGate Records is streaming on all major platforms. Carol is excited to be bringing all of her talents to bear in expanding audiences and opportunities at Historic Cherry Hill.

Rosie Cohen
Education AssistantA native of Albany, NY, Rosie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American History and Master of Arts in History from Clark University. Rosie has trained at several different museums and cultural institutions, from living history to natural history. Her favorite topics of study are American folklore and medical history.
