The Teen Guide Program is an after-school guide training program for high school students in the City of Albany who wish to become paid student tour guides at Historic Cherry Hill. Members of this weekly after-school club investigate how history affects our lives through a local lens and gain skills like public speaking and critical thinking, applicable for college, work, and life!

BENEFITS
Through this program, students will investigate how history affects our lives, through a local lens.
- Gain skills in public speaking, historical thinking, and interpretation, applicable for college, work, and life
- Meet local professionals in the fields of history, academia, government, the arts and public advocacy groups, and hear the paths they’ve taken in their own lives
- Visit other local history sites, with behind-the-scenes tours with local experts
- Join a diverse and supportive group of students from a variety of Albany schools
In 2024, students earned $15.50 per hour.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Students entering or current in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade who live in the City of Albany. No work experience or minimum grade point average is required. But students must be at least 14 years old and able to obtain working papers.
Students under the age of 18 will need signed permission from a parent or guardian to participate.
